This daytrip is part of a longer drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles, along the winding Pacific Coast Highway. The only surviving pictures are from this leg; the other pictures of the Central Coast, including those of the breathtaking Big Sur region, were lost somehow while I was in LA. I took it slow and ended up spending five days for the whole drive, camping and hosteling along the way.

This particular leg started and ended at Palo Alto, where my friend Jörg lives. It was drizzly all morning inland, but as soon as I hit the beach the weather started to clear up. The craggy shoreline is quite a contrast from the sandy Florida coast that I'm used to.
